One Machine, One Flaw, One Fix

The DeWalt DW735 is a good machine with one well-known flaw. It snipes. Every owner has read the same advice: support the board, lift the ends, adjust the tables. Some of it helps a little. None of it fixes the cause.

The cause is flex. When only one feed roller is holding the work, the cutterhead assembly moves, and you get a dip at each end of the board deep enough to sand out or saw off. That is a mechanical problem, so it needs a mechanical solution.

Dewalt Planer with Snipe Upgrade

We machine one: the Planer Snipe Fix Kit. It caps the flex. After setup, customers measure one to two thousandths where they used to lose an inch off both ends of every board.

We are a small shop in Massachusetts. We make one product, we make it here, and we would rather do that well than sell you a catalog. The parts are machined to spec, the kit installs in 20 to 40 minutes with no drilling, and it comes back off if you want it off.

If you own a DW735 or DW735X and you have been fighting snipe, that is what this is for.
